sound healing & meditation
Healing starts when the body and mind are relaxed and in a meditative state. Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra together is an effective way to achieve this desired state.
Allison uses authentic Himalayan singing bowls for her Sound Healing practice. These bowls are traditionally made of a seven special alloy of gold, silver, iron, mercury, tin, copper and lead. Each of these sacred metals is aligned with the seven heavenly bodies of our solar system, and seven of the main chakra-s of our body. Sound and vibration can be used to re-tune us to health and one of the most powerful modalities for this is the use of these special singing bowls. The resonance of the sound and/or vibration penetrates in the subtler bodies through our tissues and bones, and helps open up the natural flow of energy. Our bodies can be tuned like musical instruments. When they are properly tuned, we have a sense of well-being and perfect self-expression.
Yoga Nidra means sleep with a trace of awareness. It is a state of mind between wakefulness and dream. When you practise Yoga Nidra you are opening the deeper phases of your mind. The Yoga Nidra Allison practises is a simplified version based on the techniques of Swami Satyananda Saraswati of the Bihar School in India. Her guided instruction includes Sankalpa (resolve or intention), body scan, breath awareness and visualizations. Keep your mind open during Yoga Nidra, as it is more of a practice of deep listening and feeling. There is no need to over-analyse or concentrate too deeply on the instructions. Even if you are dreaming of something else, the suggestions made by the teacher are still going to work on the subconscious mind.
The application of both Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra can reset or re-pattern the energy body to a more harmonious state of health. Both practices transmits intentions and emotions, which can cause relaxation to occur on a cellular level.
